JOIN US
The organisation was formed in 1994 in order to create a
forum for miniature and narrow gauge railway operators along
with associated traders.
The organisation gives an opportunity to exchange views/ideas on
many matters.
The company has created links with HSE/HMRI and this leads to
our being involved in various matters of legislation at the
formation stage with an input being made by us.
We are a group member of the Heritage Railway Association
which enables our members, many of whom would not meet the
criteria to join individually, to enjoy the benefits of the
organisation at a far lower cost.
The HRA will still take the leading role for all railways
which come within the scope of the Railway Inspectorate but for
those with gauges below 350mm we are in the initiative and take
the lead advising the HRA whenever their larger negotiating
powers are needed.
A quarterly Newsletter is published to ensure that all
members are kept in contact with the activities of the
organisation. Any items of general interest which are circulated
by the HRA are also promulgated to members.
The company is managed by the Directors with the Annual
General Meeting being held in March/April each year.
During the year there are two formal meetings arranged which
are hosted by one of our members and are thus in different
locations.
The dates of these are arranged to be outside the main operating
season.

We are actively involved with two of the committees of the
Heritage Railway Association and thus are quickly able to be
aware of any developments which may be being discussed that
could have an effect on our members railways. With the advent of
the changes brought about by the various major railway accidents
in recent times this is an every increasing area which needs
continuous monitoring.
We are in the final stages of producing a set of guidelines
