The Stansted Park Light Railway is the brain child of Geoff Jago who, tired of running his quarter scale Denver & Rio Grande 2-8-0 steam locomotive around the very limited circle of track at the Fareham & District Society of Model Engineers club, decided to
create his own miniature railway. After 2 years spent searching the area around Chichester and Havant he eventually obtained the lease on a suitable site in the grounds of Stansted House near Rowlands Castle in Hampshire. Assisted by three volunteers he
spent the next 2 ½ years building the railway from
The Railway is open to the public on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00am, and the last train runs at approximately 3:45pm. We are also open on most Bank and Public Holidays and some additional days during school holidays.
Exceptionally, due to bad weather, staff shortages or unplanned maintenance work, the Railway may have to close without warning. Therefore, to avoid disappointment, please call the number below to check if the Railway is open.
